History
James Willcox is a qualified English language teacher and the founder of Live in Languages. He has a wealth of experience within the ESL world, having taught English as a second language for nearly 20 years. He has extensive experience in overseas ESL markets and works with agents from a variety of countries to devise and deliver a highly effective English learning service. He has always had a strong interest in teaching English, traveling and engaging with individuals from all over the world.
James is originally from England and in 1992 he moved to Japan, where he taught business and general English to clients from 8 to 85 years old. He taught in high schools, private language schools and companies. Upon his return to England, he became Vice Principal of a well-established British Council recognized school. He was responsible for marketing in the Middle East and East Asia, recruiting and training teachers and developing syllabi for language courses. In 1997, he founded Live in Languages Ltd and initially offered courses in the UK.
James' wife is from Seattle, Washington, in the USA and when they moved to Seattle in 2003, he decided to offer courses in Seattle as well. Seattle proved to be a destination clients were very interested in and over time, language course location offerings expanded further to include Hawaii, New York, Miami, and San Francisco in the USA, as well as Victoria and Vancouver in Canada. The locations expanded as clients requested them and are some of the most interesting and beautiful destinations in the world.
James currently resides with his wife and three children in Seattle, Washington. He continues to thoroughly enjoy providing clients with such an enriching English language learning experience through Live in Languages.
